Steven Ward (He,Him)

APC, NCC, CTP

Steven is a National Certified Counselor, Certified Trauma Professional, and Associate Professional counselor.

He completed his graduate studies with the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the College of William and Mary and has pursued additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma Processing (CPT), and Gottman Institute Levels 1 and 2. He has a background in crisis counseling and is able to quickly adapt to client needs as they work toward meaningful change.

Steven specializes in working with couple/relationship counseling as well as individuals to help them uncover and achieve their fullest potential. He partners with clients to explore past chapters of their lives, rewrite unhelpful narratives, and author new ones that reflect each client’s unique and personal values, priorities, and goals.

He provides each client with a warm, non-judgmental, private space to explore any issues they may have, whether those issues stem from relational distress, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, chronic illness, or general life stress. Steven strongly believes that there is no one path for all - each individual and relationship come with unique life contexts, influences, and perspectives - and he strives to honor that individuality.

He combines genuine curiosity and acceptance with the power of EFT, narrative theory, person-centered, IFS, and multiple evidence-based theories, to fuel his work with clients as they move through their fears and toward lives of balance and meaning.
