SARAH EVERS
(she/her)
About Sarah:
Sarah uses person-centered counseling, prioritizing unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and empathy. Sarah’s aim is to establish a therapeutic relationship with clients to promote a sense of trust, safety, and encouragement to try new skills and new ways of thinking.
Sarah prefers an integrative model of psychotherapy grounded in a mindful presence. A large focus of her practice is supporting individuals to develop greater self-compassion, gratitude, and a deeper understanding of self. She often draws from evidence-based interventions such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Positive Psychology. She appreciates that humor and laughter can be medicine. Sarah frequently uses expressive techniques such art, writing, and music to bring greater connection to self.
It is Sarah’s life’s work to support individuals experiencing emotional pain in all its forms. Her special interests include working with individuals living with and caring for those with chronic illness, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and grief. Sarah strives to practice cultural humility and provide trauma-informed care. She is a Gender-Affirming, Queer-Allied and Body Positive counselor.
