Child & Adolescent Therapy
Childhood can seem carefree from the outside, but from the child’s perspective, it’s a wild ride. Growing up includes many of life’s biggest changes at an incredible pace, all while depending on others for survival, safety, and stability. This rapid change, paired with limited wisdom from life experience, can make a child’s emotional world fragile, with each new challenge shortening their fuse and edging them ever closer to feeling out of control.
As children enter adolescence, that delicate balance is tested even more. Intense new emotions, complex social dynamics, and the growing pressures of school, appearance, and fitting in can often feel overwhelming. Most adolescents find it difficult to express and discuss these challenges with anyone, let alone parents. Though parents only want what’s best, teens often interpret well-intended guidance as pressure to conform, suppress parts of themselves, or hide their true feelings in order to avoid conflict, judgment, or disappointment.
Our therapists provide a safe, compassionate, controlled space where young clients can unpack their experiences, put words to their feelings, and learn to trust their own perspectives. We help children and adolescents build resilience, embrace self-acceptance, and develop practical coping skills to navigate these formative years with confidence. Our goal is to support each young person in growing into an authentic, healthy, well-adjusted individual, while also easing stress within the parent-child relationship.
