Do you take insurance?
Insurance companies require a diagnosis of you when you may not need one, require proof as to why you need sessions, and dictate the number of sessions they think you should have. If you would like to use insurance benefits, we have a couple therapists that accept some insurance policies.
Susan Keenan is an in-network provider for Blue Cross. Lynn Lane accepts Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare and Medicare.
Peachtree Psychology psychotherapists are considered out-of-network providers with insurance companies, except the aforementioned companies. When you choose to work with an out-of-network provider, you pay the fees to the provider directly. Peachtree Psychology can provide you with a statement, called a superbill, that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You must verify this with your insurance provider.
Your insurance may provide some reimbursement if you have out-of-network mental health benefits. If eligible, you may obtain partial reimbursement for the fees from the insurance company. Depending on the plan, insurance companies may reimburse up to 80% of an hourly session rate.
Superbill: Many therapists provide a “Superbill”, which is a summary of services with applicable billing codes and receipt of payment for the client to submit to their insurance company for personal reimbursement.
In-Network Providers: If your therapist is “in-network” with an insurance, it means they have been accepted and credentialed by the insurance company as a preferred provider for that plan. In-network services may come with a copayment which you will need to make at the time of each session. Copays can range and are based on your plan.
Out-of-Network Providers: Some insurance plans will pay a percentage or reduced amount for services by a provider who is “out-of-network”, meaning they have not been credentialed by the insurance company. Payment is based on several factors, including whether you have met your yearly deductible.
Deductibles: Your deductible is the base limit of investment you must make in your medical costs before your insurance will cover services at a higher level (often 80% of total costs of care.) Deductibles can range from as little as $0 to as much as several thousand dollars per year. Sometimes you can pay for your therapy upfront and receive a statement which you can submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement.
HSA: Some plans include Health Savings Accounts (HSA’s) that can be used to pay for all healthcare services regardless of in-network or out-of-network qualifiers. It is critical that you understand your insurance plan and the limitations of what they will cover. Ultimately, no provider can guarantee that your plan will cover services, and you will benefit from contacting your insurance proactively to be best informed. It is also important to ask if your therapist is in or out-of-network.
What are your fees for counseling services?
Each therapist has their own individual charges based on a clinical hour, which is 50 minutes. These rates are based on their experience, licensure, and expertise. Initial intake sessions and couples and family sessions have higher rates.

How long does therapy take?
That all depends on you!
Some clients have a specific goal in mind and it might take 8-10 sessions to reach that goal if they are focused and dedicated.
Other clients realize that their goals are broad ranging and they want to dig deeper and make bigger changes, and thus the working phase takes longer.
Others want ongoing support over time and choose to come regularly for many months.
We will discuss what your needs are, and we can determine the appropriate length of time for you to reach your goals and make the changes you need.
How often do we meet for counseling?
Evidence shows that weekly sessions result in the best outcomes for clients. We want great outcomes for you, so we strongly encourage weekly sessions at first.
Biweekly is an option after you feel that you are making significant progress towards your goals.
We have therapists that are available Monday through Saturday, mornings, afternoons, and evenings until 9pm.
What kind of results can I expect from therapy?
There are a lot of factors that contribute to therapeutic results. The relationship between you and your therapist will be the biggest contributor to that success, so trust and communication are key. Other key factors are your openness, commitment, time and the energy you put into the work of therapy, in the session and at home. All these factors will greatly increase the outcomes and you will be able to obtain the results you are looking for.
Our therapists offer our time, energy, and commitment to you, along with our knowledge, understanding of the issues at hand, and will help you implement the skills you need to make changes. The results most often are relief from anxiety, less fighting and chaos, and more clarity on yourself and progress towards the direction you want to take in your life.

At Peachtree Psychology, we strive to make teletherapy as easy and accessible as possible. You do not need any special software to access teletherapy. We use a HIPAA compliant, confidential, and safe online portal that allows you to complete intake paperwork online, and to access your session link with the click of a button that is sent to you. You are able to use a computer, tablet, or your cell phone.
Not Sure If Online Therapy Will Work for You?
Online therapy is not for everyone. While some people really enjoy the convenience of online sessions, others prefer to meet in-person. If you aren’t sure if teletherapy is right for you, please contact us. We are happy to answer any questions you have.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because your therapy session is a time reserved exclusively for you, we require a credit card to hold your appointment. Clients are requested to provide a minimum of 24 hour notice for cancelling or rescheduling an appointment to avoid a cancellation/missed appointment fee equal to the cost of the session.
Please be aware that insurance cannot be charged for this fee.
Do you offer a consult prior to a first session?
Our therapists offer a free 10-15 minute phone consult prior to scheduling with the therapist at their initial session if a client so desires.
